Defibrillator (AED) & CPR Training/ Refresher short course

Electrical defibrillation is well established as the effective therapy for cardiac arrest, the most important determinant of survival being the time from collapse to delivery of the first shock. Today the widespread deployment of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) is considered a realistic strategy for reducing death rates due to heart disease.  This is designed as an introductory (or refresher) CPR training course for anyone wishing to develop their basic life support skills in CPR and the use of an AED.

Course duration: ½ day (3 hours)

  • Dealing with collapse
  • AED and CPR training

 

Assessment and Certification

  • Assessment is continuous by the trainer
  • Certification is from ITC First and valid for 3 years

This course can also be done as an add on at the end of a one day Emergency First Aid at Work course (7 hours total) or as part of a 2 or 3 day FAW or FAW Requalification.
